BOSIET TRAINING course is designed to introduce delegates to the specific issues and regimes relevant to offshore installations and to equip them with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills for travelling to and from offshore installations by helicopter

Course Objectives

Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) course comprises of theoretical and practical sections with demonstrations where applicable. The objectives of the BOSIET are that delegates will be able to:

  • Identify key offshore related safety regulations and explain the basic safety management concepts
  • Identify the generic hazards which are specific to offshore oil and gas installations, potential risks associated with those hazards, and how controls are put in place to eliminate or reduce risks.
  • Demonstrate that they can use the safety equipment, and follow procedures in preparing for, and during helicopter emergencies with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.
  • Demonstrate sea survival and first aid techniques.
  • Demonstrate that they can effectively use basic firefighting equipment, and practice self-rescue techniques in low visibility situations, to include smoke-filled areas.

Prerequisites For Delegates

Interested participant must be physically, mentally and medically fit to be able to complete all aspects of course. BOSIET course is physically demanding and candidates will be required to complete a medical declaration prior to course commencement.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Participants must posses SSCE or demonstrate the ability to read and write english language
  • Participants are required to submit a valid Government issued identification ID Card such as; National Identification Card, International Passport, Driver’s License, Voters Card, etc.
